The Base Hospital in Dikoya, Hatton is scheduled to be developed with the assistance of the Government of India and expected to open for the public on the following day of Vesak poya day next year. The opening ceremony will be held under the patronage of the Indian Premier.

This was discussed when a Indian delegation including the Indian Health Minister J.P. Nadda, and High Commissioner V.K. Singha met with the Sri Lankan Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senarathne alongside the 69th Session of the WHO-SEARO in Colombo.

Indian Premier is also expected to join a Yoga program at Galle Face.
