About 28,072 persons belinging to 6,718 families in 86 grama seva divisions in six Divisional Secretariat Divisions have been affected by the prevailing disaster situation. Of them, 18, 026 are alredy in safety centers.

Two houses have been fully damaged while 55 are partially damaged.

According to Mr. Jayalath, drinking water, dry rations, sanitary goods, soap, tooth paste, tooth brushes, mats, pillows, medicines, mosquito  coils, candles, lanterns, and other essential goods are needed for the victims.
