Minister Senarathne held a special discussion with the TU leaders of the Corporation regarding the salary increment of the employees today at the ministry.

Accordingly, it is planned to increase the salaries of SPC employees by 30 percent this year, 20 percent in 2018, and 20 percent in 2019. The minister said that the approval for this plan will be obtained from the Secretary to the Ministry of Finance.

Further, it is expected to spend Rs. 200 million for this salary increase. The State Pharmaceuticals Corporation has recorded a profit of Rs. 1.9 billion in 2016.
