Divisional Secretariat divisions and surrounding areas of Neluwa and Yakkalamulla in Galle district, Divisional Secretariat divisions and surrounding areas of Pasgoda,Pitabaddara and Kotapola in Matara district, Divisional Secretariat divisions and surrounding areas of Bulathkohupitiya and Dehiowita in Kegalle district, Divisional Secretariat divisions and surrounding areas of Bulathsinhala, Agalawatta Walallavita and Badureliya in Kalutara district and Divisional Secretariat divisions and surrounding areas of Ratnapura district have been issued a landslide warning from 6.30pm yesterday (13th Sept) to 6.30 pm today (14th Sept).

The rainfall within the last 24 hours has exceeded 100mm and if the rains continue be on alert for possible landslides, slope failures, rock falls, cut failures and ground subsidence warns the National Building Research Organisation. It further states for residents to be ready to evacuate if the need arises.
