The newly appointed acting Director General of the Department of Government Information (DGI) Attorney-at- Law Sudharshana Gunawardhana assumed duties today (13th Oct.) at the department.
He is also the Chairman of Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC).
Additional Secretary (Development and Planning) to the Ministry of Finance and Mass Media Ms Thilaka Jayasundara, former Director General of DGI Dr. Ranga Kalansooriya, Director General of SLBC Erananda Hettiarachchi, and the staff members of DGI participated on this occasion.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
