    The country should always move towards victories – President Featured

    A country should always move towards victories, emphasized President Maithripala Sirisena while adding that one must ensure tasks that could not be completed today for the benefit of the should be completed tomorrow.Handing over of several development projects completed under “Pibidemu Polonnaruwa” Programme was held under the patronage of President Sirisena Friday (1) and the President made these comments while addressing a gathering at General Hospital in Polonnaruwa.


    President said attempts taken by him to prioritize the service carried out for the country as well as to contribute a fair share towards the development of Polonnaruwa have become fruitful. The condition in the country would have been transformed better if he had received the support of everyone for the activities carried out for the welfare of the country, said President Sirisena. He further said although he was able to make significant development in freedom, democracy, media freedom , the process was not without obstacles or challenges.
    President also declared open a newly constructed housing complex for the government officials in Polonnaruwa. President also declared open the new Police office in Polonnaruwa constructed at a cost of Rs. 97 million. President then attended “Mankada Roo Rata” art exhibition and book launch by Hasini Wasana Sewwandi, a Grade 9 student at Polonnaruwa Royal College. President earlier took measures to prove a house to Hasini and the exhibition has been organized as a tribute to the President.
    Students who won the all island championship in weightlifting were awarded certificates by the President. President then joined the ceremony to declare open the newly constructed classroom building at Seevali Model Primary School in Polonnaruwa. The building was constructed under “Pibidemu Polonnaruwa” district development programme at a cost of Rs. 7.9 million.
    The four-story Postal complex built at a cost of Rs. 63 million was vested with the public by the President. Several development projects including a new eye clinic building, sports and physical wellness center, official quarters for specialist doctors, a new ward complex with 120 beds, emergency ward complex and official quarters for Director/ Deputy Director/ Specialists were also opened by the President.
    The opening of the hospital health information management system at the Outpatient Clinic was also done by the President. The Digital Customer Satisfaction Survey system was also launched and hospital information exchange at Polonnaruwa District Hospital was opened while hospital medical information system was connected to the E Channeling Service. Governor Saratha Ekanayake, Mayor Chanaka Sidatha Ranasinghe and several others were present on the occasion.
