The Department of Meteorology today issued Advisory for Strong Wind and Rough seas says that Wind speed can increase up to 60 kmph at times in the deep and shallow seas off the coast extending from Mannar to Kaluthara via Puttalam and Colombo and in Matara to Pottuvil via Hambanthota There is a possibility that sea areas off the coast extending from Pottuvil to Galle via Hambanthota and deep sea areas to the West of the island, may experience swell waves, having 2.0 - 2.5 m height (This is not for land area).Above mentioned sea areas can be rough attimes. Naval and fishing communities are requested to be vigilant in this regard. Color: -Red Warning (Take action)
