Election Commission Director Channa de Silva told the government offcial news web site that apart from public holidays the deposits could be made during working hours during this period at District election offices.

 He said that within the next few days the Election Department would release several circulars on the misuse of public property during the election period, code of conduct for government officials, media guidelines, government sector appointments, promotions, transfers etc.
