    Navy assists sterilization of Election Secretariat

    In an attempt to stop the spread of COVID – 19 in the country, Sri Lanka Navy threw its weight behind sterilization of the Election Secretariat, yesterday.

    In a bid to strengthen the incorporated mechanism for controlling the spreading of the Corona virus and in response to a request made by Commissioner General of Elections Mr. Mahinda Deshapriya, under the directives and guidance of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Siva, Navy’s Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear Unit engaged to sterilize the Election Secretariat in Colombo, today (19th March 2020).

    During the cleansing programme, to ensure the protection of the staff of the Election Secretariat who are getting ready for the upcoming general election, all areas of the Election Secretariat premises were sterilized following Standard Operational Procedures. Meanwhile, the Navy is geared up by all means to take every possible action to sterilize public places as required in forthcoming days.
