The Police Media Spokesman SSP Jaliya Senaratne issued a notice stating that it is compulsory for anyone stepping out onto main roads or by roads to wear a mask.
Therefore, he urged the public to wear face masks when stepping out of their homes.
He said that a large number of government officers have been directed to self-quarantine due to the carelessness of the public. He said that it is possible to safeguard the health of the government officers to continue their services in order to eradicate the Coronavirus threat from the country, if the public adheres to health advice issued to them.
