    Another 32 persons identified for having close contacts with 28 individuals previously taken into naval custody in Suduwella area

    After having identified another 32 persons who were potentially exposed to the 28 individuals previously taken into naval custody in Suduwella area, the Navy sent them to the Naval Quarantine Center in Nachchikuda, Mannar on 13th April 2020.

    The new group of people were found from Ja-Ela, Mattakkuliya and Ragama areas.

    The Navy on 09th April 2020 conducted an intelligence operation to apprehend 28 persons who were avoiding quarantine orders remaining in the village of Suduwella, Ja-Ela. Subsequently, this group of persons were directed for proper quarantine process and 06 of them were found to be persons contracted COVID-19.

    Further, the Navy on 13th April 2020 identified another 32 individuals from Ja-Ela, Mattakkuliya and Ragama areas, who were potentially exposed to the aforesaid COVID-19 infected persons. Meanwhile, with the onset of COVID-19 symptoms, one woman in this group was rushed to the Welikanda Base Hospital, Polonnaruwa for COVID-19 testing. The rest (31) were sent to the Naval Quarantine Center at Nachchikuda, Mannar. Among the 31 persons were 06 females, 17 males and 08 children.
