Discussions were held between the Government of Australia and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to modernize fishing vessels' monitoring system with the presence of Fisheries Minister, Douglas Devananda.
The IOM, with the assistance of the Government of Australia, is in the process of modernizing the existing VMS equipment for fishing vessels due to deficiencies in the existing VMS equipment.
Chief of Mission at International Organization for Migration, Dash Sarat, and a group of officials from the Fisheries Ministry took part in this discussion.
