    Introducing Digitization to Sri Lanka Posts Department

    The Department of Posts Sri Lanka enters digitalization by issuing the first stamp through digitization. This was officially launched at the Ministry of Mass Media under the patronage of Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella.

     

    Accordingly, a stamp worth Rs. 25 with a QR code was issued for the first time March (16). Further information related to this stamp can be obtained by scanning its QR code and accessing the Post Department official website.

    Moreover, a new postal stamp worth Rs. 500 with a special security mark was also issued under the patronage of Minister Keheliya Rambukwella. Rajitha K. Ranasinghe, the Deputy Postmaster General assured that a security symbol is concealed in the stamp and if a person misuses it, the digitization process could possibly detect information about it.

    Minister of Plantation, Ramesh Pathirana, Deputy Postmaster General, Rajitha K. Ranasinghe and the Director-General of Department of Government Information, Nalaka Kaluwewa were also present at this occasion.
