Minister of Fisheries, Douglas Devananda laid the foundation stone for the construction of the bridge and embankment of the Achchuveli Udavikkulam Pillaiyar Kovil in Jaffna. The construction of this bridge and embankment was inaugurated by Minister Douglas Devananda under the guidance of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The Chairman of the Achchuveli Pradeshiya Sabha and officials of the Road Development Authority were also present at the occasion. Meanwhile, Fisheries Minister Douglas Devananda laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Kalmadi Nagar Bridge on 16.03.2021 in response to a request made by the people of the area to repair the Kalmadu Nagar Bridge in Kilinochchi.
This will hopefully provide a better solution to the incessant problems faced by the people including the farmers and school children living in the area.
