    World Bank support for National Digitization Program

    Representatives of the World Bank appreciate Sri Lanka's National Digital Development Transformation plans for a Technology-Based Economy.

    World Bank's Country Manager for Maldives and Sri Lanka Chiyo Kanda said that the World Bank will provide the necessary support as a partner in the implementation of these plans.

    The World Bank Regional Representatives shared these views during a discussion held with the Ministry of Technology and the Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA). The discussion was held at the Information and Communication Technology Agency.

    The Secretary to the Ministry of Technology, Jayantha de Silva stated that the main objective of the Government is to enhance the integration, efficiency, and productivity of all sectors of the economy through the implementation of such a digital agenda.

    The Secretary further denoted that the most priority projects are the computerization of 14000 Grama Niladhari Divisions, the establishment of a digital judicial management system, and the introduction of a National Digital Identity Card
