    German Embassy’s Military Adviser Calls on Commander of the Army

    Military Adviser of the Embassy of the Federation Republic of Germany based in New Delhi, affiliated to Sri Lanka, Captain Gerald Koch together with a delegation yesterday morning (4) paid a courtesy call on General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Army and Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID -19 Outbreak at the Army Headquarters.

    The delegation was composed of Mr Olaf Malchow, Deputy Ambassador, Lieutenant Colonel Jan Cihar, Deputy Defence Attaché and Ms Dharini Daluwatte, Political and Protocol Officer.

    During the interactions, the German Embassy envoy shared thoughts about bilateral cooperation and the understanding between both nations for so many years. He also spoke positively about the Army’s ongoing support for eradication of COVID-19 pandemic from Sri Lanka. The meeting also highlighted the importance of further enhancement of close cooperation and exchange of technical expertise between both military organizations.

    General Shavendra Silva thanking the visiting Military Adviser’s initiative in arriving in Sri Lanka for the first time wished good luck with his future undertakings. The brief but cordial meeting culminated with exchange of mementos.
