    Rainy and windy conditions are likely to increase over most parts of the island further during next two days

    WEATHER FORECAST FOR 25 DECEMBER 2022

     

     

    The depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal located 350km to the northeast of Trincomalee. It is very likely to cross Sri Lanka by tomorrow. Under the influence of this system, rainy and windy conditions are likely to increase over most parts of the island further during next two days (25th and 26th December).

    Cloudy skies will prevail over most parts of the Island.

    Showers or thunder showers will occur at times over most parts of the country. Heavy showers above 100 mm can be expected at some places.

    Strong gusty winds of about (40-50) kmph can be expected at times over the Northern, Eastern, Uva, North-western, Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.

    General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
