    Navy assists smooth function of health services at several hospitals

    In the wake of the shortage of health staffs at hospitals, the Sri Lanka Navy on 01st and 02nd February 2024 stepped up to provide crucial health services, to avoid inconvenience to the public and ensure the continuity of essential services in several hospitals.

    At the directives of the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, medical teams were sent to the National Hospital Colombo, National Institute of Mental Health Mulleriyawa, National Hospital for Respiratory Diseases, Base Hospital Kiribathgoda, Teaching Hospital Karapitiya, District General Hospital Trincomalee and Divisional Hospital Medawachchiya. Accordingly, the Navy medical teams worked in cooperation with the hospital staffs and its intervention has come as a welcome relief for those in need of urgent care.

    Meanwhile, The Navy is always prepared and accessible to assist the public in times of any emergency.
