He has made this reference issuing a special statement. The Opposition Leader said that Minister Sajith Premadasa had mentioned at a function held in Ambalangoda that the Sri Lanka Freedom Party and the United National Party have entered into an agreement for a National Government.

He had also mentioned at this function that no one can prevent Ranil Wickremasinghe becoming the Prime Minister of that National Government.

In his statement the Opposition Leader further stated that no such agreement had been reached and the only desire of the Freedom Alliance including the Sri Lanka Freedom Party is to defeat the progressive forces and establish an Alliance Government at the forthcoming elections.
