Accordingly, an All-Night Pirith chanting ceremony preceded over by Ven. Panwila Gunarathana Nayaka Thero was also held. Similarly, prayer sessions were held at Uththangarpilleyar Thanniirippu Kovil, Mulliyaweli mosque and at the St. Jude Church in Mullaittivu. During all the religious events, troops invoked blessings of the deity for the betterment of the military establishment and the residents in the region.

Mullaithivu District is a region that was held under the clutches of the LTTE which engulfed in ruthless terrorist activities for over three decades. It was a grave mine-infested region which was also inaccessible for its residents then. With the dawn of peace, along with the immense contribution of the troops, city has now seen its real life once again.
