The celebration program has begun from yesterday (06) at Archaeological Department Premises with an all night Pirith chanting followed by an alms giving for 125 monks today (07).

An exhibition displaying number of artifacts including sacred relics recovered from the Neelagiri Seya will be held at the Archaeological Department premises from  July 8 to 12,  The exhibition will be inaugurated on Wednesday (08) by the President and the Prime Minister.
 

The Department will also issue five commemorative stamps in this regard.
