    Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand calls on President

    The Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, Wissanu Krea-Ngam, who is currently on an official visit to Sri Lanka, called on President Maithripala Sirisena at the President’s Official Residence.

    The Deputy Prime Minister brought back the Sacred Buddha Relics of the Mahiyangana Rajamaha Viharaya that was taken to Thailand for an exposition at the Buddhamanthan Temple in Thailand in parallel to the President Sirisena’s state visit to Thailand earlier this month to participate in a ceremony to mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relationship

     

    Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand held a cordial discussion with the President and Both leaders discussed the ways to further strengthen the Buddhist cultural links between the two countries.

     

    Attention was drawn to further strengthen the cultural and economic ties between the two countries and to conduct exchange programs on areas such as culture and commerce between Sri Lanka and Thailand.

     

    Buddhasasana Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakse also participated at the meeting.
