November 21st will see the first completion of President Maithripala Sirisena as the common candidate for the previous presidential election. Thus, the Prime Minister claimed that all major provisions listed under the election manifesto would be be put into action by this date.
The Prime Minister added that although certain provisions that were listed might have taken time to be enacted, mechanisms to ensure that they are met are already put in place. The government would now look to put into action the economic and development agenda that was listed under the election manifesto, said Prime Minister Wickramasinghe.
In this regard the government has a capable ministerial portfolio to achieve this. Finance, Development Strategies, International Business, Tourism, Primary Industries, Agriculture as well as other portfolios that are working in unison to achieve the economic and development mandate. Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe expressed that the government would lead by action in achieving this mandate instead of rhetoric.
