    The Govt. is not ready to curtail people's rights - President at Ambalangoda

    The Government is not ready to curtail benefits of the people and had never denied the  people their rights said President Mahinda Rajapaksa addressing the UPFA final  rally at the Ambalangoda town on Wednesday (26).

    Addressing a mammoth crowd at the election rally in support of party candidates contesting from the Galle District the President also assured the public that obstacles would not prevent the present government from achieving its development goals while preserving the rights of the labour fraternity.  He further added that many criticize when some work is done for the benefit of the people but when the coauntry reaps the benefits they view it with jealousy without opening their mouths.

     

    The President pointed out that this is the first time the Government  introduced a technology curriculum in the schools for the benefit of the children,  not just to win the country but the world.  At the same time, the President opined that a background was being created to build the morality of the children and also a better society.

     

    He also said that the Government's initiative to build state-of-the-art technical laboratories in schools with the addition of science and technological studies to the school curriculum, has brought about a revolution in the education sector.

     

    President Rajapaksa urged the public to choose wisely at the forthcoming election and support the Government to carry forward the ongoing development and usher a better future for the people.

     

    Senior Minister Prof. Tissa Vitharana and Ministers Nimal Siripala De Silva and Rajitha Senaratne addressed the meeting. A large gathering including many Parliamentarians participated in this massive rally.
