Accordingly the time period has been extended upto December 21, 2014.

Leader of the House Irrigation Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva presented the motion which said “in terms of Standing Order No 96, this Parliament do grant the Select Committee of Parliament to recommend and report on political and constitutional measures to empower peoples of Sri Lanka to live as one nation appointed by the Speaker on June 21, 2013, an extension of time till December 21, 2014 as the Committee is unable to report its findings to Parliament the time limit granted by the motion agreed by Parliament on Nov 23, 2011.”
