    PM assures one million jobs

    Assuring one million jobs opportunities for youth Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe insists that no one should entertain any fear about the programme launched for the creation of one million jobs for young men and women. He emphasized that this programme is in place through investments.

    The Prime Minister said that they gave a pledge to generate one million jobs for the youth. They are fully concentrating on this programme. The background of the generation of these jobs will take place within the next three months as a result of the agreements that are to be signed with China, Japan, Singapore, India and European countries. The jobs will be created through investments. He assured that this programme of creating jobs will be definitely in place.


    A meeting of representatives of the United National Party was held at Sirikotha under the patronage of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe. The new reforms of the Party are due to be submitted to the Working Committee next Tuesday.


    The Prime Minister said that they launched a major battle and as a result a new Sri Lanka is being built. The United National Party is being reformed to suit this new Lanka.


    In the meantime, Premier Wickremasinghe underscored that no agreement will be signed covertly. The Prime Minister said that based on the mandate given by the people, Bills will be presented in Parliament and decisions will be reached only after discussions. Further addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said that certain persons and media institutions were criticizing the democratic programme.


    The Prime Minister said that the power crisis would be discussed at the next Parliament sessions. He mentioned that the people should have an awareness on those who are responsible for it.
