“I am the only President in the world who allowed the defeated state leader to go home in a state owned helicopter with his own security personnel”, said President Maithripala Sirisena participating in the district party convention held in Bibile on 9th April.

“Although there were many criticisms at the election platform on the electric chair and the international tribunal, we were able to provide seating for the former leader Rajapaksa and the former army commander Sarath Fonseka instead of the electric chairs”, President said.

Recalling the past, President pointed out that the new political party to be formed within the SLFP will not reach a goal. “Even though there are separate agendas for political parties, the number one should be the country and the people,” he added.
