    Sweden pledges to support to get GSP plus back

    Sweden's Foreign Affairs Minister Margot Wallstrom has pledged to provide every possible support from the Sweden government to Sri Lanka to regain the GSP plus facility.

     

    Foreign Affairs Minister stated this when met with the President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat, yesterday (25th April). She is on an official visit to Sri Lanka with a top Sweden delegation.

     

    During the discussions the President sought the Sweden support for research activities in preventing kidney disease in Sri Lanka and to establish Vocational Training Centers to enhance the vocational training opportunities for the youth in the North and the East. Ms. Wallstrom assured their assistance in this regard.

     

    The attention was also paid on the fields of education, fisheries and environment.

     

    The President also invited the Swedish investors to utilize the investing opportunities available in Sri Lanka. He emphasized he would provide required facilities on this regard as a government.
