    No basis for No Confidence Motion against Secretary General of Parliament

    Speaker Karu Jayasuriya today announced that the Parliamentary Affairs Committee has found that there was ‘No basis for No-Confidence Motion’ against the Secretary General of the Parliament.

    Earlier, a No Confidence Motion against the Secretary General of Parliament was handed over to Speaker Karu Jayasuriya on Tuesday.

    The Motion states that the Secretary General should be removed from his post as he had failed to carry out the division on 5th May, 2016 on the Supplementary Estimate vote. The motion that was signed by 32 Parliamentarians was handed over by MEP leader Dinesh Gunawardena. (CDN)
