Speaking at the 75th anniversary celebration of Kegalle Vidyalaya yesterday (Feb. 15), the President said, “The scholars and intellectuals should not be isolated in the society by limiting themselves in their own fields. Most problems of the society can be solved with the voices of the scholars and intellectuals.”

H said the scholars and intellectuals should act for the social justice by putting their knowledge into practice for the progress of the society.

“Today is an era where people reap the benefits of the free education and the Government will further strengthen it and the health of the country with a great commitment.”

The President promised to provide the necessary funds to build the three-storey building at the school without any delay at the request of the students of the Kegalle Vidyalaya. A series of 22 books written by students of the school was also presented to the President.
