The Weather forecast issued by the department further says that Showers or thundershower will occur at most provinces of the island.

Fairly heavy falls (about 100mm) can be expected at some places particularly in Eastern and Uva provinces and in Matale and Polonnaruwa districts.

Fairly strong gusty winds (up to 40 kmph) can be expected in the northern half of the island and in Mathara and Hambanthota districts.

There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
