President Mahinda Rajapakse declared open the Premakeerthi de Alwis Mawatha, Thursday morning. The road between the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation and the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation in Colombo 7 was renamed as Premakeerthi de Alwis Mawatha.
The road was named in parallel to the 25th death anniversary of Sri Lankan broadcaster, lyricist and television personality Premakeerthi de Alwis.
Ministers Keheliya Rambukwella, T.B. Ekanayake and Colombo Mayor A.J.M. Musammil together with many artistes were present at this occasion.(KH)
