Prime Minister’s Office refutes the news item carried by a private media channel which states that the Prime Minister has asked the Inspector General of Police Pujitha Jayasundera to resign from office issuing statement the  Director General of the Government Information Attorney at  Law Sudharshana Gunawardene announced this morning. .
