    President to take Indo-Lanka relations to greater heights Featured

    President Gotabaya Rajapaksa said he will take steps to bring Indo-Sri Lanka relations to the highest possible echelon during his tenure of office.President Rajapaksa said this when he met Indian President Ram Nath Kovind at the Rashtrapathi Bavan in India for official talks with him last morning.


    President Gotabaya Rajapaksa who is on his first official foreign tour after assuming office was offered a grand traditional welcome by the Indian President on his arrival at Rashtrapathi Bavan following a military guard of honour accorded to him.
    During the official talks which followed Indian President Ramnath Kovind extended greetings to the Sri Lanka President and said their meeting was a special occasion which would further promote mutual relations between the two countries.The Indian President who appreciated the programme of work undertaken by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa according to a new vision said it would receive the full support and cooperation from India.
    Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and Indian Minister of State Transport and Highways Minister V. K.Singh were also associated with the talks said a media statement issued by the President Media division.Thereafter, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa visited Raj Ghat and paid homage at the Gandhi Memorial. Thereafter he also signed the Visitors Book.
