Thousands of UPFA supporters were present at the Mahiyangana public grounds.

President Mahinda Rajapakse addressing the rally said that UPFA would emerge victorious with an unprecedented majority at the forthcoming Uva Provincial Council Election.

He said that no one will be able to stop this victory as the people of Uva has experienced significant socioeconomic development during the last few years. Road, health and education sectors in the area have been developed immensely.

He further emphasised that a UPFA led provincial council in Uva will carry forward development work in the future.

Senior Minister Athauda Senevirathna, Ministers Nimal Siripala de Silva, Susil Premajayantha, Keheliya Rambukwella, Lakshman Senevirathna, SAbaragamuwa Province Chief Minister Mahipala Herath, Western Province Chief Minister Prasanna Ranatunga, Parliamentarian Thenuka Vidanagamage attended the rally.
