The Colombo Children Art Exhibition is a programme organized by the Urban Settlements Development Authority under the Ministry of Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities parallel to International children's Day and World Habitat Day.
The first round of this art competition was held with the participation of 12,500 children of the age group of 4-5 upto 18 years from Colombo North, East, West and Central. . The second round was held on 20th September at the Viharamahadevi Park with the participation of 5000 children and under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
"Colombo Children 2014" exhibition will be open to the public from 9 am to 6 pm until October 3, at National Art Gallery premises.
The President after opening the exhibition viewed the paintings of the children and appreciated the work and skills of the children.
Ministers Wimal Weerawansa and Prof.G.L.Pieris were present at the event.(KH)
