Speaker Rajapaksa arrived at the Press Room with his top officials after UPFA National List MP A.H.M.Azwer brought to his notice the media reports on inconveniences the journalists had to undergo during the Budget presentation by President Mahinda Rajapaksa last Friday owing to inordinate delays by some officials of the Finance and Planning Ministry and parliament staff who failed to provide faxing facilities.

Also with the Speaker were Deputy Speaker Chandima Weerakkody, UPFA MP AHM Azwer, Serjeant-at-arms Anil Parakrama Samarasekera.

Speaker Rajapaksa after a brief discussion with officials of the Sri Lanka Parliamentary Journalists’ Association including its President Prageeth Perera, ordered parliament staff members to provide the Press Room with new fax machines today itself. (Special Reporter/HC)
