The Presidential Media Unit said that President Rajapaksa has ordered the relevant authorities to take immediate action to provide relief to the victims affected by the landslide in Meeriyabedda, Haldummulla area.
Instructions have also been issued to the Defence authorities to expedite operations to evacuate survivors and also to rescue those trapped under the ruble.
According to the Presidential Media Unit instructions have also been issued to the Disaster Management Ministry to expedite granting relief to those affected. (KH)
