The minister said this after presenting the second interim report of the COPE which investigated 46 institutions during the period from May to September this year by the committee.

The two institutions of which the top management recommended to be removed were National Paper Company Limited and the State Printing Corporation, according to the report.   

“During the course of the First Session of the Seventh Parliament, commencing form June 2010, the COPE has been able to examine the audited accounts relating to all institutions coming under the COPE thrice within a period of four years. This is an unprecedented record in the history of our legislature,” the minister said.

He said that the Committee was of the view that provisions should be made available to avoid the re-appointment of chairmen and the members of the board of directors in the institutions which have been offered with a disclaimer or adverse audit opinion for three consecutive years.(Special Reporter/HC)
