The ceremony was held to mark the 56th birth anniversary of the Chief Incumbent of Ahumgalla, Sri Pulinathalarama Vihara Ve.Wethara Amarananda Anunayaka Thera.
The President who visited the Vihara engaged in religious observances and secured blessings. Thereafter unveiling the plaque, the President declared open the new Buddha Mandira and Dhamma School building.
President also mingled with the large crowd of people who gathered at the Temple.
Senior Minister Piyasena Gamage, Ministers Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena, Rohitha Abeygunawardena, Deputy Speaker Chandima Weerakkody, Southern Province Chief Minister Shan Wijayalal de Silva, Parliamentarians Sajin Vaas Gunawardena, Dr.Ramesh Pathirana were present on the occasion. (KH)
