    President Meeets Suduwella Fisherfolk Featured

    President Mahinda Rajapaksa visited the Kottegoda Suduwella Fisheries Harbor and observed the facility developed at a cost of Rs. 350 million under the Mahinda Chintana policy. Welcoming the President the fisheries community presented some of the problems they face and the President paid attention to their grievances. He assured to provide funds required to complete the construction of the harbor promptly.

    The President drew his special attention to some of the issues presented by the fisher community. It was the Mahinda Chinthana policy that paved the way for the construction of an anchorage fisheries harbor ending the era which was limited to an election pledge of making the Suduwella fisheries ferry into a harbor.

     

    The President informed the fisherfolk that immediate grants will be given for future development of the fisheries harbour.

     

    Minister Dulles Alahapperuma and Deputy Ministers Sarath Kumara Gunaratne and Sanath Jayasuriya joined the President in this tour. (ST/KH)
