    President officially inaugurates Scout Service and Public Relations Week Featured

    President Maithripala Sirisena officially inaugurated the Scout Service and Public Relations Week of Sri Lanka Scout Association on Friday (June 5) at Presidential Secretariat.

     

    Many programs will be held island-wide during this week to build the team spirit, expose the talents of scouts and build relationship with the community. It is anticipated to raise funds for scouting projects by their own capabilities and to train themselves to face the challenges in life will be trained through these activities.

     

    President Sirisena at this occasion recalled his experience as a boy scout at Polonnaruwa Royal College.

     

    A boy scout presented the first official job card of this programme to President Sirisena. The President was also awarded a special souvenir by Mr. Rohan Fernando; organizer of the Scout Service Week.

     

    Chief Scout Commissioner Prof. Nimal de Silva and International Commissioner Janprith Fernando were among those presented at this occasion.

     

    Members of the Scout group of St. Thomas’ College, Colombo which recorded the highest income during the Scout Service and Public Relations Week last year, joined the President at this event.
