    Navy clinched 57 medals at the 12th South Asian Games held in India

    The sports personnel of the Sri Lanka Navy, who participated with the 12th South Asian Games held in India representing Sri Lanka have brought fame to the motherland and honour to the Navy winning a tally of 57 medals which include 03 Gold, 25 Silver and 29 Bronze medals.

     


    Eighty-seven SLN sports personnel took part in the multi-national sports event held from 05th to 16th February 2016 in Guwahati and Shillong, India. Those sports personnel represented Sri Lanka in  Athletics (9), Football (8), Cycling (2), Kabaddi (6), Archery (1), Triathlon (2), Swimming (3), Handball (10), Taekwondo (2), Wushu (7), Judo (2), Wrestling (4), Musketry (9), Boxing (1), Weight Lifting (4), Volleyball (3), Hockey (9), Basketball (3) and Kho Kho (2).

     


    W/LS NPD Priyadarshani for Athletic(100m x 4 relay) – Women, OD KPSB De Silva for Swimming(freestyle 100m relay) – Men and OD PIH Lakshan for Wushu (nankuan event) – Men clinched Gold Medals.
