The Elapathgama village was established by the late most Ven. Maduluwawe Sobhitha thero.

The key discourse of the ceremony was held by the chief prelate of the Kotte Kalyani Samagri Sangha Sabha most Ven. Iththapane Dhammalankara thero.

Prof. Sarath  Wijesuriya, the convener of the National Movement for a Just Society, Attorney Ravi Jayawardhana, the President of the most Ven. Maduluwawe Sovhitha thero Memorial Foundation, and, Dr. Jehan Perera, the Chairman of the National Peace Council Sri Lanka were also Present.

Several development projects were also initiated yesterday to uplift the living condition of the Elapathgama village.
