The symposium is to be held as a part of the Sri Lanka NEXT: ‘A Blue – Green Era’ Conference and Exhibition to be held from 17th to 19th October at BMICH.
The Symposium comprises of several presentations by selected researchers. In addition, there will be three lectures by international experts, and a panel discussion at the end of the event. A set of recommendations will also be presented to the Government of Sri Lanka as an outcome of this international event, the sources said.
Encouraging people on the valuation of forest ecosystems, and realizing the important services related to the ecosystems will be the key objectives of the symposium.
According to the experts, the valuation of an ecosystem could not be done in an easy manner within a short time and it would take much time to finalize the valuations with international standards, which is based on bio diversity.
