The drama ‘Maname’, first staged at Lionel Wendt on 3rd November, 1956 was applaused by thousands of audience both local and abroad during its 6 decade long journey.

Mrs. Lalitha Sarathchandra, speaking to the audience at the end of the show yesterday at Lionel Wendt expressed her gratitude to all, especially to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe for the support given to the drama since the very beginning.

Former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunge, Minister of Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media Gayantha Karunathilake, Minister of Education Akila Wiraj Kariyawasam, Director General of Government Information Dr. Ranga Kalansooriya, and many invitees witnessed the celebration.
