    'Need to stop Jayawardene from scoring' - Misbah

    August 05, 2014

    Misbah-ul-Haq has said that Pakistan will need to keep a check on Mahela Jayawardene's scoring in the upcoming two-match Test series in Sri Lanka.

    The Pakistan cricket team led by captain Misbah-ul-Haq arrived in Sri Lanka on last Saturday for 2 Test series and a three ODI series. The series will be Jayawardene's swansong from Tests.

    "If we are to win the series in Sri Lanka, we have to ensure that their top batsmen, particularly Jayawardene, are not allowed to get many runs," Misbah said on his departure from Karachi. "I have a lot of respect for what he has achieved but we are going to Sri Lanka to win the two-Test series and we know how important it is for us to not allow their senior players to score."

    The first Test match will commence on August 6 and the schedule is as follows;

    Aug 6-10 - 1st Test - Galle Stadium - Galle
    Aug 14-18 - 2nd Test - Sinhalese Sports Club - Colombo

    Aug 23 - 1st ODI - Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium - Hambantota
    Aug 27 - 2nd ODI - R. Premadasa Stadium - Colombo - (D/N)
    Aug 30 - 3rd ODI - Rangiri Dambulla Stadium - Dambulla
