    Under 19: Avishka Fernando help Sri Lanka take series lead against Australia

    A blistering knock of 127 off 103 balls from top-order batsman Avishka Fernando of St. Sebastian College, Moratuwa helped Sri Lanka Juniors beat Australia Under-19 by 80 runs in the 4th Youth one day match which took place at Colts grounds in Colombo today. Avishka became the first player to score a century in this five match series.

    The junior Lions posted 278 for the loss of seven wickets and bowled out Australia for 198 with 29 deliveries to spare.  Right arm fast bowler Keshan Wijeratne had an impressive match bag of 4 for 38, Charith Asalanka had figures of 3 for 32. The first two games ended in no results and Sri Lanka won the third game by 23 runs.  The fifth and re-scheduled Youth ODIs will be played on Friday (3) at the P. Sara Oval and on Saturday (4) at the SSC in Colombo.
