Mr. Z.A. Osman who served in the refereeing field for over 30 years was assisted by Football Federation of Sri Lanka for his urgently needed heart bypass surgery.
Mr. Ranjith Rodrigo, President of FFSL stated that this is a clear exemplary moment that FFSL will assist for those who really served the game at the right time. The President handed over a cheque worth of Rs. 100,000/- for his medical treatment and prayed for his good health and speedy recovery.
Mr. Osman was not only served as a referee but also became a famous character in coordinating referees appointment for many league tournaments such as City League, Colombo League, Mercantile League and School Football.
Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Rohitha Fernando – Asst. Secretary (Technical) expressed his gratitude and thanked Mr. Osman for his yeomen services to the field of refereeing and football.
Large gathering of referees, officials including Mr. Rahula Siriwardana – Asst. Secretary (Admin), Mr. Anura de Silva ( Director – Operations) , Mr. A.M. Yapa ( Director – Referees) and Mr. M.A. Ranjith ( Referees Coordinator ) also participated in this occasion. (HC/SDF)
