“Army Northern Games – 2014” was organized on directives of Commander SF-J Major General Udaya Perera to endorse “Healthy Army – Healthy Nation” programme initiated by Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake.

Commander Security Force (Mullaithivu) and Colonel of the Regiment Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Major General Jagath Dias graced the award ceremony as Chief Guest.

 
Private Priyangani WMS representing HQ SF-J and FMA North team was adjudged the best female athlete and Lance Corporal Priyankara RMSN of 51 Division was awarded as the best male athlete of the games. The 51 Division secured the trophy for champions leaving 52 Division the runner up.

Twelve teams representing Jaffna schools and six Jaffna sports clubs also took part in exhibition relay competitions and the winners received financial prizes, medals and certificates from the SF – J Commander.  

Religious leaders, senior officers of Army, Navy and Air Force and civilians witnessed the event.(KH/cimicjaffna).
